Learn more about Smooth Move USA
Smooth Move USA was founded on the principles of hard work, superior customer service and an eagerness for community involvement. Smooth Move USA has humble beginnings and was founded in 2006 by JR March. With a wealth of moving knowledge and experience, JR broke from the large national chain of moving companies to start out on his own. After several years of hard work, and excellent customer service JR decided to try his hand in other ventures, and set off for greener pastures. At that time the company was sold to Jesse Lovan and Chris Shipp. Under new this new partnership Smooth Move USA was able to offer an even higher level of customer service.
Jesse Lovan was born in Fountain Valley, California just a little over 100 miles south of Bakersfield, CA. Jesse’s family moved to Bakersfield, CA at the age of 4 years old where he attended and completed his childhood education. Jesse graduated in the top 5% of his class in 2002 from Liberty High School where he was involved in student government and many sports during that time. Jesse also received several academic scholarships during his time in high school. After high school Jesse attended Bakersfield College while working construction during his off time. Once college was finished, he went on to a career in sales and marketing. In 2010 Jesse Lovan and Chris Shipp devised a plan to go into business together. No stranger to hard work, Chris and Jesse set out on the journey to become a successful moving and storage business. Now almost 10 years later, Jesse operates one of the largest moving and storage businesses in the county. Jesse enjoys traveling with his wife and family when not working. Now as a pillar of the local community Jesse, Chris and Smooth Move try to give back to their local communities wherever possible.
Chris Shipp was born and raised in Bakersfield, California and is proud to call it home. He attended Rio Bravo Greeley from kindergarten through 8th grade and then went to Liberty High School where he played football. Chris and his team won the first section championship of school history. After finishing high school at Liberty, Chris continued his education and football at Bakersfield College. After graduation, he decided that it was best to help run his grandparents farm. That lasted about 4 years until they sold it and retired. Chris wasn’t exactly sure yet, which way he wanted to take his career path, so he decided to get into sales. He knew that sales would be a great foundation for his future in business. After a couple of years of sales, Jesse and Chris had the opportunity to start their own company. Both knew, they wanted to be in business for themselves for a long time and they now finally had the chance. It was humble beginnings of very long days with no free time, but as they were grinding through the dog days of summer, Chris and Jesse knew that if they kept putting their customers first and doing a great job it would finally pay off. Now they instill the same beliefs into their Smooth Move USA employees. Chris continues to follow his passion of football coaching at Garces High School for the last 10 years. Chris’ favorite hobbies are snowboarding, Mountain biking, anything outdoors, and helping out the community any way he can. Last but certainly not least Chris’ greatest joy of all is being a husband to his beautiful wife and father to two amazing girls.
